Is a work permit required when working less than 3 months in Vietnam ?

As usual, most foreigners who wish to work in Vietnam are required to obtain work permits. 

 

A work permit is known as an official document issued by the Vietnamese government that allows foreigners to work legally in the country. Work permit validity is typically up to two years and restricted to only one renewal. However, it's important to note that not all cases require a work permit.

 

Therefore, you do not need a work permit to work in Vietnam for less than 3 months. 

The fact that, in this situation, tourist visas are not permitted to work in Vietnam. Instead, you may need to obtain a business visa which is known as a short-term visa with a duration of maximum for 3 months, issued to foreigners who want to work in Vietnam, attend a meeting, or sign contracts, but do not have a valid working visa or temporary residence card.
